HOPE’s mission is to promote and safeguard the fundamental human rights of vulnerable groups including migrants, asylum seekers and former refugees in New Zealand and in the wider-world, whose lives have been traumatized by disasters, poverty, persecution or discrimination.

HOPE seeks to go beyond addressing the consequences of poverty by understanding the context, challenging the status quo and making an effort to bring positive change into the circumstances and environment that are the root cause of poverty and exclusion.

HOPE is striving to help communities realize their full potential by providing economic, social, moral, and financial assistance.

Here at Hope in New Zealand we strive to make our communities better by empowering anyone within them to realise their best potential.

We are a not-for-profit organisation working to improve the lives of former refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants as they find their place within Auckland’s vibrant communities.

Driven by the Māori processes of Manaakitanga – showing respect, generosity and care for others – and whakawhanaungatanga – establishing relationships, and relating well to others – we provide a range of services, initiatives and events for anyone in Auckland seeking food, financial support, advice or simply connection.

Through our Food Watch Programme we distribute more than 4000 food parcels a year, filling hungry bellies, connecting families to their community, strengthening their culture, wellbeing and outlook to reduce demand on our country’s health, social and education systems.

We also host various events throughout the year as part of our Social Integration Support initiatives to bring families, communities, and cultures together by encouraging people and families to learn about each other and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Our success depends on our dedicated community volunteers who give up their time to help us deliver our programmes, and in collaborating with other organisations to educate the wider community of the needs, strengths and aspirations of those we serve.

We uphold the principles of Te Tirito o Waitangi and strive to develop an understanding of all who we serve.

Everything we do is driven by Aroha (compassion) Āta (acting with care) and Ako (reciprocal learning).

This is echoed in our interactions with every person we have the pleasure of connecting with, because we know success comes from valuing and celebrating all by drawing on the combined cultural knowledge of everyone we serve.

HOPE has an accreditation with United Nations and accredited to participate in all future sessions of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). HOPE has been a member of International Humanitarian networks and attained membership with national and international organizations to attain the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

Hope Worldwide-Pakistan (Humanitarian Organization for Poverty Eradication) is incorporated under charitable trust Act 1957 and a Registered Charity under Charities Act 2005 in New Zealand.
